easy puzzle for you

two men knowing each other good are meeting. asks the first: 'please tell me how old your three children are?', answers the other: 'if you multiply the ages you get 36. and if you add them you get our house number.'. the first one thinks a little bit and replied: 'this puzzle has more than one solution.'. so the first thinks also a little bit and answered: 'our youngest is called bob'.

how old are his children?

The combinations of three numbers that multiplied gives 36 are:

1 4 9 the sum of them is 14 1 6 6 the sum of them is 13 2 2 9 the sum of them is 13 2 3 6 the sum of them is 11 3 3 4 the sum of them is 10

if the ages would have been 1 4 9 or 2 3 6 or 3 3 4 it would have been only one solution, since the guy knew the house number. Therefore, the ages are 1 6 6 or 2 2 9. The last clue 'our youngest is called bob' tells us that he has only one child that is the youngest (no twins) therefore the answer is 1 6 6
