Anywhere between 3 and 9 seconds, depending on the length of the last strike (in- or excluding the ringing).
P.S.: That range is exclusive, neither 3 nor 9 are possible answers, even though 9 is probably the intended answer.

Sounds like Common Entries, so I'm guessing 10.5 as well. Or is it Rare Entries, then my guess is 9.02

A version of this puzzle came up in the movie 'JFK.' I don't remember the details but the movie said (of Ruby firing 3 shots in, say, 15 seconds) that this meant he was able to reload and re-aim his rifle in 5 seconds.
