At least he's got an actual puzzle this time. IIRC, he used to just point out lots of numerical tricks with the current date, but forget to actually ask a question.

Unfortunately, the puzzle appears to be def^H^H^Hin need of some clarification. 'dd.mm.ccc.yy' and '7.02.25 = 7.22.5' seem to indicate that we can use any date from 1st January 25 through 31st December 99925. Is the removal of zeroes mandatory or optional?

a raft of square dates, triangular dates, prime xx dates, may be swamping nz in a couple of weeks. February 2005. perfect powers. 1.2.5 = 5^3 2.2.5 = 15^2 3.2.5 = triangle = 13*25 6.2.5 = 25^2 = 5^4th... and many similar.

i allow optional leading zeros. i allow (day) (month) century year .. or month day year or anything like a reasonable date. m/yyyy, yy/mm, ....

i suggest maximum 31.12.3000.

square root = 5600 ?? make it end in 5 and square it.

I'll revise the program so maybe you can just search for .. d.m. 'square' and it will tell you when your d.m.yy25 will be square. That 'll be a great service to you! (only 29.2 and 31.12 fail!!)

in the meantime.. d m 0000 may probably work, above. all digits without punctuation or leading zeroes. when is my birthdate square??
