Please Help - A Puzzle By Me

Hi there, I'm new to this group, so I don't know if this type of puzzle is normally submitted. I wrote this puzzle in 1995, when I was 12 years old, but forgot to retain a copy of the answer. I recall spending a week writing the puzzle, and am pretty sure I remember the answer, but not quite.

Can anyone help me by solving this puzzle, and if possible, submitting not only answers, but the method used to calculate them?

Well, after working on this a bit, given some traditional Logic Problem assumptions (Li Chong doesn't own any pet, every other person owns exactly one pet, and no two people have the same kind of pet), and following some straightforward implications, I came up with this:

First, from various clues, it is possible to match these people to pets:

thankyou for your time. you got the correct answer, and managed to figure it out quite easily. I posted this puzzle to alt.brain.teasers, where it received a different answer, but I am sure yours is correct. the pointless statements were merely a distraction to throw people off the scent.
