Mary loves and hates??

All,

I need some help. Was at a conference ethe other day and they gave use the below. They said we got it wrong but did not give the answer does anyone have any ideas??

Mary loves knights but hate wizards, she loves writing but hates typing, she loves listening but hate singing, she loves unknown authors but hates famous authors. Why??

Any help would be great!!

I see that as another line of things she loves and hates but not the reason why she loves and hates them! If it is the answer then am still confused

Well, all I can tell you is that she likes Knights and chaos, but not nights and confusion.

Does she like nights? For me the evidence would say no, but I'm not sure we have enough information? Does she like things that are thorough? How about things that are rough? I can think of reasons for her to like or hate either of these. But she'd certainly love signing mortgages.

If you want to be put out of your misery, two possible answers below...

1) She loves words with silent letters 2) She loves words where one letter or combination of letters sounds like another (eg she might like 'fiction' because it has the 'sh' sound in it)

Too bad she hates Danny Kodicek, though.

Loves pretty baa-lambs too, but has no time for puppies or kittens.

I'm not so sure. But I do know she has a soft spot for Thomas, Michael and Matthew.
