This is Letters Contest ASK1, which is a hybrid of several other contests that appear on this list.
Do NOT post answers to any newsgroup. Entries must reach here by Thursday July 5th, 11:59 P.M. (EST) Your entry will be acknowledged when it is received (although be patient since it's a long weekend here in Canada). This contest is short date because the questions require no research, only skill in outguessing the other players.
Your answer to all of the following questions will be a letter in the range [A-F] *INCLUSIVE* (English alphabet only & case insensitive... coming up with trick letters is not part of this contest). Your total score will be the *SUM* of the *SQUARE ROOT* of your score for each question. Submitting an incorrect answer for any question will result in disqualification.
Let N be the total number of entrants. Let X be the number of entrants who chose an answer.
1. Choose a letter in the range [A-F]. Your goal is to choose the least common answer. You will receive a score equal to (2N)/X.
2. Choose a letter in the range [A-F]. Your goal is to choose the most common answer or a unique answer. If you submit a repeated answer you will get X points. If you submit a unique answer then you get 2N points.
3. Choose a letter in the range [A-F]. Your goal is to choose the most common answer from question 1. If X is the number of entrants who chose your letter in question 1, you will get 3X points.
4. Choose a letter in the range [A-F]. Your goal is to choose the least common answer from question 2. If X is the number of entrants who chose your letter in question 2, you will get (2N)/X points.

I can post using either Netscape or Google (I'm using Google more often these days, as I realize that only about 50% of posts make it through our firewall). As far as I know, neither one of them supports that kind of advanced configuration.
