On another newsgroup someone has been posting slanderous messages in my name.
As a precaution I am terminating my Google membership, at least temperarily.
I had much more to say on the subject of mathematics, but, who knows if I will return.

Probably a waste of time since you probably won't be reading this, but have you considered using an ordinary news service, rather than posting through Google? Google doesn't own Usenet, after all. And forged headers are hardly new, but also they are rarely persuasive. If someone hitherto clueful starts posting out-of-character material, forged headers are the first thing any reasonable person checks before jumping to unwarranted conclusions.
