An Arab sheikh tells his two sons to race their camels to a distant city to see who will inherit his fortune. The one whose camel is slower will win.

The brothers, after wandering aimlessly for days, ask a wise man for advise. After hearing the advice they jump on the camels and race as fast as they can to the city. What does the wise man say?

The wise man says,

'Curiously enough, the only thing that went through the mind of the bowl of petunias as it fell was 'Oh no, not again'. Many people have speculated that if we knew exactly why the bowl of petunias had thought that we would know a lot more about the nature of the universe than we do now.'

The wise man said to go ask the people on rec.puzzles as he's sure they've heard this one many times before and will probably have the answer they desire . Hearing that they both rush to the camels to try to beat the other one to the computer in a nearby village.

However, they quickly realize that in their haste, they have accidentally gotten on the wrong camels. In arguing about the camels and the fortune one realizes the trick and takes off. The other follows, at first just to see what the other is up to (since he's not heading towards the village), but on the way back he realizes the trick as well and then tries his best to beat the other brother back.

, as always any opinions I may have written above are mine and mine alone.
